UofH Psych Internship 10/21/2019

I wasn't at the lab last week, and truth be told I missed it. Heading into today, I was really looking forward to my time at the lab.
My task list has been completely updated, and I have a huge amount of data to enter. I'm going to be doing what they call a second hand-entry, which basically means I'm going to be the second person to enter one set of data. Although this might seem counterproductive, they require all data be entered twice to make sure that nobody made a mistake. Accuracy is extremely important. I was able to enter two sets of data today, which is good but not great. I was on pace to enter three, but the last set of data had poor handwriting and it took all my brainpower to decipher it. Usually this doesn't matter; Most of the data is represented by check marks so there is nothing to read. However, there is one point where the survey participants need to express how they're feeling on a 1-5 scale. This particular persons 1's looked the same as their 2's, so I had to check what the first person to enter the data said and write what they wrote. It ended up being more time consuming than one would think.
I also talked with the head of the lab and we set up a meeting to talk about potentially helping to write and publish a research paper! That would be a really fun and educational thing to do, so fingers crossed the meeting goes well.
