UofH September 23th
Charlie McGill
UofH Psych Internship--9/23/2019
Today was the first day of my internship at University of Houston's Psychology Lab at their main campus. I started this internship over the summer, but took a hiatus during the month of August and the first few weeks of school. I'll be going into the lab most Mondays from 10:00-12:00 and doing the same type of work that I did over the summer, which includes data entry, literature searches, and the occasional transcription.
Today was a fairly uneventful day, which was to be expected since I had to re-learn the ropes. At 10:00, I had a meeting with the grad-student who is in charge of all interns. For the next hour or so, she walked me through the z drive, where all the labs data is stored, and its contents. All the work I do requires navigating the z drive, so it's vital that I know where all the files are and exactly what areas of the drive I'll need to master.
Although today was more of an orientation day, next week I'll be beginning real work. I'm really looking forward to it.
